Please wear your gray Habitat for Humanity shirt if you already have one. If you need a shirt, email SMSCGives@shakopeedakota.org to arrange pick up at the community center.
The city of Prior Lake has given permission for volunteers to park in the parking lot at the end of the road on 170th ST SE, the lot attached to the fields at The Ponds Park.
All volunteers must sign up online ahead of time. Volunteers who arrive without signing up may be sent home.
There is a max of up to 15 people per day and each person NEEDS TO SIGN UP ON THE HFH website.
** All user accounts have been deleted from the system so everyone will need to create a new account.
Shifts
Fifteen (15) volunteers are needed for each day.
Tuesday April 1, 9:30am-4:30pm
Wednedsday April 2, 9:30am-4pm
Thursday April 3, 9:30am-4:30pm
Saturday April 5th,9:30am-4:30pm
Monday April 7, 9:30am-4:30pm
Tuesday April 8, 9:30am-4:30pm
Wednedsday April 9, 9:30am-4pm
Thursday April 10, 9:30am-4:30pm
Saturday April 12th,9:30am-4:30pm
Tasks
Participants will complete various tasks based on how far along the build is including but not limited to: hanging drywall, painting, installing flooring, etc. Habitat for Humanity does not require any construction experience prior to volunteering. Their on-site supervisors are familiar with all skill levels and can find an appropriate task for everyone.
Event Expectations
Volunteers are expected to follow all instructions set by the Habitat for Humanity Site Supervisor and/or the designated AmeriCorps member.
Waivers will be required to be filled out prior to your shift. Be on the lookout for a reminder email from #SMSCgives a few days prior to the event to complete the waiver.
Food and Beverage
Lunch and water will be provided.
Transportation
Volunteers will be responsible for their own transportation to the building site. We highly suggest meeting in the Team Member parking log with other volunteers to carpool.
